Last year was a pretty busy year forweather presenters. Not only was it the hottest year on record, it also saw the likes of Hurricane Patricia and an exceptionally powerful El Nio.

In this time-lapse visualization, you get a global perspective of all the meteorological goings-on thatoccurred during 2015 all under nine minutes. A narration keeps you on track throughout the changing of the seasons and helps you follow the wealth of weather systems thatswirl around on our little blue marble.

The video comes from theEuropean Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites(EUMETSAT), an intergovernmental organization thatuse space satellites to gather data on weather and climate. This particular video uses information from geostationary satellites of EUMETSAT, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Japan Meteorological Agency.
